I've been feeling a little down about Chicago as a place; I think it's great and wonderful but I generally don't ever feel "Inspired" by it like I do other places I've visited. Here there can be a feeling of containment because no matter where you walk you can hear the cars a block away, sometimes that just becomes too much and it gives me great lonesome feelings. Lately though I've had second thoughts about my current city, because I went walking down a street by my apartment, always thought this street was going to lead to some sketchy bars, some houses, and that would be it. I went walking there and found a crazy voodoo figurine store with ceramic unicorns and a giant shrine for a saint complete with animal bones under it. The religion isn't really voodoo, it has to be some combination of Christianity, a South American religion, and some African religion. Then farther down the street it turns into a Polish neighborhood with an excellent fresh sausage store and weird pet store that looks like a strip joint! heh. I felt like I was traveling in Europe instead of trapped in a city.
As for art, still working on this animation for class, making comic concept artwork, designing characters, etc..
Love you all,
Kira

Fatality is like ghosts in the snow, and you have no idea what you're up against
Because I've seen what they look like, becoming perfect as if they were sterling silver chainsaws going cascading..

Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.
